New Freestyle Owners Article:

Congratulations! You have just purchased the latest and greatest from ICD! Now
where do you start on your new investment?
First of all, read. If you need help, search PB Nation, this document, other forums.
Try to find the info you need. More often than not, its already out there.
Freestyles have always been known as temperamental markers. But, if you get to
know how it works, you should be able to fix 90% of all problems.
Now, what to do with your new Freestyle?
First of all, put a battery in it. With all current FSs you can simply unscrew the rubber
grips and snap a battery in.
Now, turn on your Freestyle by flipping the switch in the back. If you have a Gen-1,
you will have two switches; in that case, flip only the green one. If you do not have a
Gen-1, turn off the eyes. This can be done by either turning the gun on with the
trigger depressed, or holding the trigger for 3 seconds. Pull the trigger, the solenoid
should now click. If not, you either put in a low battery, there is a bad connection, or
your solenoid has problems.
If you are this far, you should read the Regulator Balancing Article.

How a Freestyle Works:
Back to Table of Contents
The Freestyle is a blow forward marker. It is dual regulated thus both high and low
pressure air are consistent.
When you pull the trigger, the solenoid opens venting the low pressure air. This
allows the high pressure air to push the bolt forward as well as vent into the breech.
After a preset amount of time (dwell), the solenoid closes and the low pressure air
re-cocks the bolt, completing the cycle.
